Metta bhavana meditation is the practice of cultivating kindness and compassion. A sense of loving awareness in your whole being. Wishing all beings to experience love, wellbeing, happiness without wanting anything in return. Metta guides us into wholeness, into knowing the interconnectedness of all beings and the natural world.

When we are practicing metta meditation we are planting a seed in our mind. In our being. A seed of happiness, fearlessness,kindness and peace. What we focus on, bring our precious attention back to again and again will grow. Don’t take my word for it, try it. 

We begin with cultivating loving kindness towards self. Often this is the most difficult part.

We increase our capacity of holding our own being in non-judgment, in love, in kindness and then we extend it towards others. 

We live in a society that encourages us to be highly critical of ourselves and others and constantly strive for perfection. I believe practicing loving kindness is one of the first steps in reclaiming our power, our energy, our inner peace and our wellbeing.

 

Cultivate an attitude of loving kindness and return to your essence of joy. 

 

Steady yourself in a non judgmental attitude towards self. Practice and embody loving kindness, joy, fearlessness and you will influence everyone around you just by being you.

 

Be the calm in the chaos.

 

Plant seeds of happiness, of freedom from fear, of inner stability for you and for all beings. 

 

May you be anchored in kindness

May you find peace

May you nourish the seeds of joy within you everyday

May you be safe and free
